Chamlin & Associates Inc. is seeking to hire an Experienced Transportation Project Engineer with 10 plus years’ experience in our Morris, Peru or Ottawa, IL office. Engineer will be responsible for performing engineering assignments that require initiative, creativity, knowledge, and application of engineering principles. This position will primarily consist of design engineering efforts on a variety of transportation projects for State, County, and Local Agencies. A knowledge of designing roadways and associated underground utility improvements with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD/Civil 3D is preferred. Responsibilities:

• Design of roadway, underground utilities, and various infrastructure improvements.
• Conduct traffic, and various engineering studies.
• Fully responsible for the preparation of detailed engineering plans and specifications utilizing IDOT and/or local policies and standards.
• Coordinate with local, State and Federal permitting agencies.
• Provide comprehensive civil engineering services for municipal, County and State agencies.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
• Professional Engineering License (PE)
• 10 plus year of experience in the design of transportation projects
• Experience in stormwater modeling and design a plus
• AutoCAD/MicroStation software knowledge a plus
• Ability to utilize Microsoft Office programs proficiently
• Understanding of civil engineering theories and principles
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organization and multi-tasking skills with the ability to prioritize projects
• Experience permitting projects through IDOT, IEPA, IDNR and local municipalities.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
