Chamlin & Associates Inc. is seeking to hire an Experienced Civil Engineering Site Designer with 5 plus years’ experience in our Morris, Peru or Ottawa, IL office. Engineer will be responsible for performing engineering assignments that require initiative, creativity, knowledge, and application of engineering principles. This position will primarily consist of design engineering efforts on a variety of site related projects for Private Developers and Local Agencies. This position will require direct client communication and good communication skills are a must. A knowledge of Autodesk Civil 3D is preferred. Responsibilities:

• General site design including dimensional layouts, parking, grading plans, onsite storm water management, roadway, underground utility, and various other infrastructure
• Designs related to private, institutional, industrial, commercial and residential
• Conduct storm water, traffic, and various engineering
• Prepare engineering related calculations following standard methods and principles, specifically pertaining to storm water
• Fully responsible for the preparation of detailed engineering plans and specifications using IDOT and/or county, municipal
• Work with department managers to continually improve department standards and peer review process.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil
• Professional Engineering License Preferred
• AutoCAD/Civil 3D and/or Microstation software knowledge is preferred
• Ability to use Microsoft Office programs proficiently
• Understanding of civil engineering theories and principles
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organization and multi-tasking skills with the ability to prioritize projects
• Experience permitting projects through IDOT, IEPA, IDNR and local
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
